Babysitter needed:

When there is paint on the walls, table, and piano bench, toys (for the cat, but who can tell?) strewn about on the floor, random sketch pads, color crayons, paint brushes, and messes within view of every room in the house, wouldn't you suspect there must be a child residing somewhere nearby? That would be a good guess, but it could also mean that it's just me, living proof that children can be 5'11''. While all of my closest friends are either working a job that pays a liveable income, being or posing as real teachers getting their wits tested everyday, or the grandest example of grown-up-ness, have gone off and gotten themselves married, I am meanwhile receding back to my childhood. The only difference is that my mom is not here to tell me I can't have ice cream for supper. How disturbing that such a gulf is arising between me and my peers. Yes, it is true that I have some responsibility, but "draw a picture of this" and "paint a picture of that" by next week? Hardly a cause for stress or hardship or need for release. I see one difference between where I am now and where I was at 5 and where I will be in a few years, and that is the blankety financial support of my parents that is much the same as when I was 5. The money is the cause of the stress, I can see it on everyone's faces. I will soon be painting pictures or whatever so I can eat and give to charity. I suspect that this is the point when a person's idealistic values are tested, and probably most often, forgotten due to other requirements on time and energy. So right now I have a little more time to be a child. A little more time to make a plan to not be taken in by a lifestyle dictated by time and money. God seems to help with this, but I still see it at the forefront of people's minds.

Link to artwork
If you want to take a look at a few pieces of my quizi-artwork you can go to: www.photo bucket.com and search for natalieford. Run it all together like it is one word. I put a couple of things up there from design, painting and drawing classes from this year and last. Also there is a picture that I painted for Margo's wedding. Go take a look and tell me what you think.
